Outdoor dog training classes

Puppy and Young dog 'real-world' training - for pups aged 3-10months

Saturdays (term-time only), 10am, 45 minutes.

£10 per class - starting again in November.

At Longmead sports ground in Tonbridge, where the Tonbridge Angels football stadium is (TN10 3JF).

Suitable for sociable puppies and young dogs. If your youngster is beginning to be reactive, you will need to book a one-to-one with Sarah first. Older adolescents can also attend as long as they LOVE being near puppies of all shapes and sizes!

Covers:

- Foundation skills - sit, down, recall, loose lead walking.

- Socialisation to people and other dogs, and habituation to the sights and sounds of a busy park.

- Lead handling skills, and managing greetings with other dogs and people.

Things to bring: short lead and long lead (extendable or long training line) - preferably attached to a well-fitting, non-constricting harness, but wide/ padded/ comfortable flat collars are okay too unless your pup has a habit of pulling. Bring lots of small tasty food treats, and a treat pouch.


Loose-lead Walking and Coping with distractions - all ages

Occasional Sundays, 10.30am, 45 minutes.

£10 per class.

At Longmead sports ground in Tonbridge, where the Tonbridge Angels football stadium is (TN10 3JF).

Suitable for dogs who have already had a one-to-one session with Sarah, or who have attended Sarah's indoor classes. This is about practising skills around other dogs, and in a distracting park environment. Reactive dogs can attend if Sarah thinks they will be able to cope and learn some good lessons without becoming overly stressed.

Covers: 

- Foundation skills (sit, down, stay, come, close/ heel).

- Focus and attention; and building motivation.

- Walking calmly without pulling.

- Watching distractions without reacting/ trying to get closer.

- Coping near other people/ dogs/ animals/ sounds/ movement.

Outdoor shared training sessions

These currently take place at a park in Tonbridge (Longmead, Tonbridge sports ground near the swimming pool, or Hayesden).

For any age/ stage of dog.

Suitable for dogs who have already had a one-to-one session with Sarah, or who have attended Sarah's classes.

You can request to go on the list, and then Sarah can arrange a shared session with others who are interested. Shared sessions means you can work with others, and share the cost too.

Session are either 30mins or 1hr (£30 or £60 cost, shared between the participants eg £10 each if three share a half hour session). NB:30min sessions are only available in Tonbridge/ Hildenborough/ Leigh.
